“Eidolon: The Ghost Market” – New Daggerheart Setting by Keith Baker

What if the Industrial Revolution were powered not by coal and steam, but by the spirits of the dead? With Eidolon: The Ghost Market, Eberron creator Keith Baker is teaming up with Twogether Studios to develop a standalone setting for Daggerheart that blends Gothic Industrial Fantasy with elements of noir.

At the heart of Eidolon is a world whose industries harness the power of ghosts. This points toward a distinctly darker setting, where supernatural forces no longer lurk only in forgotten ruins or shadowy forests, but have become an integral part of the economy, technology, and society.

Eidolon: The Ghost Market is intended to be more than just a new backdrop for existing Daggerheart adventures. Plans include new Communities, Adversaries, and Environments, as well as additional equipment and character options. The setting will also feature its own Campaign Frames, providing GMs with starting points for stories set in the world of Eidolon.

The project is led by Keith Baker, one of the best-known setting designers in modern tabletop role-playing. Baker originally created Eberron, a setting that combines fantasy and magic with social change and elements of classic pulp and noir fiction. With Eidolon, he is exploring some similarly unconventional themes while creating an entirely new world specifically for Daggerheart.

For now, however, some patience is still required: Eidolon: The Ghost Market is currently in pre-launch on BackerKit. The crowdfunding campaign is scheduled to launch in October 2026. Further details about the scope, pricing, and potential release formats are therefore likely to be revealed by the time the campaign goes live.
