“A Guide to Cinematic Travel” – Making Travel Part of the Daggerheart Story

The party leaves one city—and three weeks later, the next adventure begins at their destination. But what actually happened along the way? A Guide to Cinematic Travel is a new GM resource for Daggerheart that aims to treat travel not as an inconvenient stretch between two locations, but as a meaningful part of the story in its own right.
The guide itself is not entirely new. Its author, Andrea “Il Rosso” Lucca, released an initial version for free on Fresh Cut Grass back in February. Following positive feedback from the community, it has now been turned into a fully laid-out and illustrated edition, with artwork by Alice Candy. The original online version is expected to remain available for free.
At its core is a question where Daggerheart leaves plenty of room for narrative freedom: How do you handle longer journeys without playing out every single day of travel—but also without simply skipping the entire trip? The guide provides a framework designed to make travel a more integral part of the group’s shared narrative.
The new edition of A Guide to Cinematic Travel is available from both Heart of Daggers and DriveThruRPG on a Pay What You Want basis, allowing players to decide for themselves what the supplement is worth to them. The release is currently available in English and Italian; no German-language edition is listed.
And this is not intended to be a one-off release. The author describes A Guide to Cinematic Travel as part of a larger series of Daggerheart releases that has been in the works for some time. Additional supplements are planned for the coming months.
